CertaPro Painters and California Closets

What began as a summer job in college turned into a passion for Mark Riggle and Charlie Meyer. Shortly after graduating, in 1999, the two colleagues purchased a CertaPro Painters franchise. Since then, they have grown the business from $250,000 in annual revenue to in excess of $10 million, with a staff of over 100 professionals offering both residential and commercial painting services. After a successful venture into the world of franchising, the duo decided to form Threefold, a holding company with over $13million in annual revenues.

Their business model focuses on purchasing franchises that are underperforming and bringing in a new management team to help streamline business operations. Their latest acquisition includes purchasing a California Closets franchise in Indianapolis. The location is home to one of the first design centers in the United States with a staff of design associates focusing on custom design and installation for bedrooms, garages, home offices, media rooms and a variety of other interior and exterior living spaces.
